资源简介:
Gamification has become one of the most widely discussed approaches in foreign language education because of its ability to improve student motivation, classroom participation, and engagement. This article analyzes the role of gamification in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) and Foreign Language Learning (FLL) classrooms through a review and synthesis of five scholarly studies related to gamified learning environments. The paper focuses on the relationship between gamification and learner motivation, retention, participation, and achievement. The selected studies demonstrate that gamification strategies such as points, badges, leaderboards, quizzes, challenges, and digital learning platforms positively influence students’ willingness to participate in classroom activities and increase their confidence in language learning. The article also discusses the advantages and limitations of gamification in educational settings and highlights the importance of balancing entertainment with pedagogical objectives. Findings indicate that gamification can significantly improve classroom interaction and learner autonomy when applied purposefully and systematically. However, overreliance on rewards and competition may reduce long-term intrinsic motivation if instructional goals are not clearly maintained. The article concludes that gamification should be integrated carefully into foreign language teaching practices to create motivating and learner-centered educational environments.
