The Hawaii limited access longline logbook summary report, January to December 2016

"The following tables represent preliminary summaries of effort, retained catch (kept) and discards (released) as reported on longline log sheets for the Hawaii limited-access longline fishery. To satisfy confidentiality and RFMO reporting standards, data from the California- based longline fishery is also included in this report. Effort and catch statistics are summarized from logbook data submitted to the PIFSC, FRMD and are based on date of longline haul. The statistics originate from an Oracle table LLDS_REPORTS_STATS_HICA database extraction done on 15 February 2017. When a statistic (number of vessels, trips) can involve dates of haul in two summary periods (i.e. years, semi-annual or quarters) the item is counted in both summary periods. Thus, a vessel or trip total is for "partial or completed" vessel or trip summary. As such, these are not additive statistics (i.e. sum of four quarters is not the total for the year, etc.)."--Page 1.
