Enterococcus mundtii QAUEM2808 has been isolated from indigenously fermented milk product Dahi, The objective of the present study was to explore the diversity of lactic acid bacterial. Dahi is perhaps the oldest fermented milk product in Indo-Pakistan subcontinent; however the microbial biodiversity of dahi is poorly studied. Enterococcus spp. constitutes an important genera of lactic acid bacteria, commonly found in fermented milk products, plants, intestine of human and animals, as well as in the cow teats. Enterococcus mundtii QAUEM2808 whole genome was sequenced to explore genetic potential regarding safety, technological and nutritional attributes.
