Effect of Dietary Supplements and Antibiotic Treatment on the Gut Microbiota of Glossina morsitans

In this study, we conducted a microbiome study examining the dynamics of the bacterial community associated with laboratory reared Glossina morsitans morsitans under differents diets with and without tetracycline treatment. The bacterial profiles were studied using the amplison sequencing of the hypervariable V3-V4 region of 16S rRNA gene from the gastrointestinal tract of adult's flies which were fed on diets enriched with tree different supplements: B vitamins(BVits), Vanderzant vitamin mixture (Van) and Yeast with and without treacycline antibiotic (T/Bvit, T/Van and T/Yeast respectively)
