Gut Microbiome Drives Glycodeoxycholic Acid-mediated Attenuation of Hypertension

Although microbiota is a recognized contributor to blood pressure regulation, the underlying mechanisms remain sparsely understood. Our study, which probes the gut-liver axis, demonstrates that gut microbiota drives a secondary bile acid-mediated mechanism to lower hypertension. This study in experimental rats serves as a foundation to target the gut-liver axis as a promising therapeutic axis for hypertension.
