We aimed to isolate and characterize lactic acid bacteria (LAB) strains from honeybee larvae with probiotic potential and inhibitory effects against the pathogenic bacterium Paenibacillus larvae, the causative agent of American foulbrood disease in beekeeping. GL3 strain was a candidate belonging to Enterococcus lactis.We explored this naturally occurring beneficial bacterium for future applications in beekeeping practices.
