资源简介:

Magnetically active stars are among the most ubiquitous high-energysources in the observable sky yet they have been studied predominantlyin the soft X-ray range below 10 keV where thermal coronal plasma is thepredominant source of photons. However both solar analogy and thepresence of strong non-thermal synchrotron emission from active stellarsources suggest the presence of a large population of non-thermal electrons out to MeV energies. They are expected to produce a strong non-thermal bremsstrahlung continuum above 10-20 keV. We proposehere a novel investigation to search for non-thermal hard X-ray emissionin stellar sources by combining results from several instruments on boardof INTEGRAL together with radio observations with the Very LargeArray. The results will be important to assess the role of acceleratedparticles in the primary energy release in stellar coronae as wellas their role in coronal heating. [truncated!
