Heterogenous mRNA localization in adult Drosophila Flight Muscle Syncytia. Drosophila melanogaster

To study heterogeneity in the localisation of mRNA in a muscle syncytium (flight muscle of Drosophila melanogaster) using high throughput sequencing.Mechanisms contributing to mRNA localization in mononucleate cells, such as neurons and yeast have been documented. An exhaustive exploration of heterogeneously localized mRNA in syncytia, where additional tiers of regulation may operate on mRNA availability, remains elusive. In this study we demonstrate heterogenous mRNA localization along the length of Drosophila Dorsal Longitudinal Muscle (DLM) syncytia over their entire transcriptome.
