Supporting data and codes for An Interactive Marine Biogenic Volatile Organic Compound Emissions Module in an Earth System Model

The dataset consists of four NetCDF files containing 50-year monthly climatological means from two CESM2 coupled simulations: an emission case with marine biogenic volatile organic compound emissions included and a base case without these emissions. The atmospheric output files, emiscase.cam.monthly_climatology_50yr.nc and basecase.cam.monthly_climatology_50yr.nc, provide monthly climatological fields from the CAM component, including atmospheric state variables and surface climate variables on the model longitude–latitude grid. The sea-ice output files, emiscase.cice.monthly_climatology_50yr.nc and basecase.cice.monthly_climatology_50yr.nc, provide corresponding monthly climatological fields from the CICE component on the native sea-ice grid, including sea-ice concentration and ice thickness. All variables were averaged over simulation years 11–60. The paired emission and base-case files are designed for direct comparison, allowing monthly, seasonal, and annual diagnostics of the atmospheric and sea-ice responses associated with the inclusion of marine biogenic emissions.
