Wild rice Oryza latiforia plants are allotetraploids having CCDD genomes. Oryza latiforia is distinguished from Oryza alta by its small seed and narrow leaf width, but these characters are expressed in continuous variation so that the relationship of the two species is not clear in many aspects. In order to obtain genome sequence information of the two species, we sequenced a total of seven O. latiforia accessions by Illumina HiSeq 2500.
