The invention discloses a preparation method of basalt fiber paper， which comprises: performing alkali treatment on a pulp of a basalt fiber with an alkali treating agent to obtain alkali-treated basalt fiber， performing acid treatment on a pulp of the alkali-treated basalt fiber with an acid 00 treating agent to obtain alkali- and acid-treated basalt fiber， adding a dispersing agent into a pulp of the alkali- and acid-treated basalt fiber to allow for uniform dispersion， adding a mixture of an organic adhesive and an inorganic adhesive to allow for uniform dispersion， diluting， forming with inclined wires， and drying to obtain the basalt fiber paper. The basalt fiber paper prepared through the method has high strength and good toughness， and can be widely applied as a high-quality temperature-resistant flame-retardant material
