Fresh water beach bacterial dynamics

Bacteria play a critical role in maintaining healthy beaches and sometimes they could cause health risks to beach users. It is important to know the changes occurring to the bacterial composition in the beach water from time to time. Further, understanding the reasons for those changes is also critical in order to manage the health risks. In this study we compared the seasonal changes in microbial community in two beaches that are located near the Lake St. Clair origin of the Detroit River.
