Phyllostegia kaalaensis is a critically endangered Hawaiian mint that is highly susceptible to powdery mildew infection. Greenhouse populations depend on regular fungicide treatments, so outplanted individuals have severely limited endophyte communities. This project tested experimental inoculations of endophytes to improve disease resistance.
