In 2021, baby boomers in the United States spent approximately 70 percent of their Black Friday budget in brick and mortar stores. In contrast, Gen X consumers spent around 60 percent of their Black Friday holiday budget in physical stores and about 40 percent online. Out of all generations, U.S. millennials were the top online spenders that year.
