Mammalian ZAP and KHNYN independently restrict CpG-enriched avian viruses

Mammalian proteins ZAP and KHNYN restrict CpG-enriched avian viruses. This data represents bulk RNA sequencing of uninfected or influenza A-infected chicken cells to examine transcriptomic changes and expression of viral mRNA during influenza infection. Chicken DF-1 cells stably expressed human ZAP-L (long isoform of ZAP), ZAP-S (short isoform of ZAP), KHNYN, or dKHNYN (catalytically inactive form). Influenza A strains were either wild-type PR8 or PR8 with elevated CG dinucleotide frequencies.
