Data and maps for shock metamorphism in the CM chondrites revealed through combined chondrule and calcite analysis.

We measured chondrule strain, chondrule orientation, and calcite deformation twinning in a collection of CM chondrites spanning a range of alteration grades and including one thermally metamorphosed CM. Maps were collected using SEM-EDS and -EBSD, and data measurements were made using these maps. The purpose of this work was to test hypotheses concerning the relations between shock metamorphism, thermal metamorphism, and aqueous alteration in the CM chondrites, explored in a paper currently in preparation.
