Knowledge, practice and attitudes regarding sun exposure among long-distance runners in southern Spain 2016

The campaign to promote sun protection and prevent skin cancer “Enjoy the sun without losing your skin”, is a public health initiative undertaken in the Western Costa del Sol health area. The goal of this campaign is to encourage healthy sun protection habits and thus reduce the incidence of skin cancer in the community. A key aspect of this campaign is the need to identify the population at risk, such as beach users, children and adolescents and outdoor athletes . In the present study, therefore, our goal is to evaluate practices, attitudes and knowledge regarding sun exposure among runners in this area.
