EVENTS MANAGEMENT PRACTICES AND THE PERFORMANCE OF EVENTS MANAGEMENT COMPANIES IN BENUE STATE

This study investigated the effect of event management practices on the performance of event management companies in Benue State. The descriptive survey design was adopted for the study. The population of the study comprised of 93 employees of event management companies. Data was collected via a researcher developed questionnaire. Data collected was analyzed using simple percentages, means and standard deviation with the research hypotheses were tested using regression statistics at 0.05 significance. Findings established that time; finance/budget, technology and human resources have positive effect on the performance of event management companies in Benue State. The study concluded that event management practices contribute significantly to the performance of event management companies in Benue State. The study recommended that proper use of time, finance, technology and human resource management should be encouraged by event management planners in order to satisfy their clients and ensure better performance of the companies.
