VPRS 18979 Quality Committees, Minutes and Papers

This series comprises volumes containing minutes and papers of the Western and North Western Health Care Network (VA 5262) Quality Assurance Committee and the Quality Improvement Committee. Both committees were advisory committees to the Network's Board of Management. The Quality Assurance Committee was responsible for the development and review of a Quality Assurance Plan developed from an aggregation of all individual Network hospital quality assurance plans. This was to ensure mechanisms were in place to assess and evaluate the quality of services offered;  the review of clinical practices; and that feedback of the outcomes of quality reviews was implemented. The Quality Improvement Committee was responsible for the development and review of the Quality Assurance Plan linked to the Network Quality Plan.  The aim of the plan was to ensure that service and campus quality plans were developed and implemented; that all quality plans obtained consumer opinion to inform decisions concerning care, service delivery and key service and facility developments; and that there was a structure and process for the regular review of quality systems, processes and business to ensure best practice.
