资源简介:
This dataset comprises raw counts of new unopened black spruce (Picea mariana) cones ("newcones") visible in the top 3 m of n = 20 black spruce trees located near Twin Lakes, Yukon Territory (61.702424º, -135.935528º), obtained by counting cones visible in high-resolution photos of the tree crowns following protocols described in LaMontagne et al. (2005) Can. J. For. Res. 35(12): 3020–3026. All trees included were greater than 5 cm diameter at breast height (dbh; dbh values included here). The purpose of this dataset was to estimate the resource environment in which red squirrels were foraging as described in Jackson and Wishart (in prep). Contains comments regarding squirrel and squirrel midden activity in the area at the time of counts.
