Ecology 2050 Woodlot Dataset 3

The experiment was conducted on September 26th, 2014 from 2:40 - 4:30 pm. The experiment was conducted at York University woodlot area on the south side of york closer to keele street. The first 2 data sets are in the grasslands while the last 2 are conducted in the woodlot area. For this specific data it was conducted by Elron Oscar (myself) and Carmela Curcuruto in the woodlot area.

 This dataset is the third section out of 4 datasets collected. The dataset was a transect measuring tape measured the distance between 2 adult trees in the outer wood lot and, are moving towards the centre of the woodlot. Adult trees are categorized as at least 12 feet or more. First an adult tree is identified and then find the closest adult tree in the first tree’s area. Measure the diameter at breast height in meters. Then, find the distance between the 2 trees in meters from the end of the first tree to the beginning of the second tree. Lastly, determine the condition of the first tree from 0-2. This is the condition on how alive or dead the tree is the numbers varies from 0-2. 0 is the result that the tree is dead. 1 is the result that the tree is living. 2 is the result that the tree is living but it has a huge green canopy. Each tree is paired with the next tree. Since we looked at 20 trees, we looked at 19 pairs of distance of trees.
