The mourners and the funeral rite, 1995

The aim of the project was to develop a theoretical model for how the pattern of behaviour of close family members of deceased are affected by the funeral rite in the grieving process, with a basis in empirical material. In a broader perspective, it was a goal to study religiousness in the context of real life experiences.

Through clergymen it was developed contact with close family members of deceased in a 10-week period, fall 1992, who agreed to participate in a self-completion questionnaire.
