Empirical Investigation About the Factors Affecting the Cost Estimation in Global Software Development Context

An online questionnaire was designed to acquire the industrial perspective regarding the cost drivers that affect cost estimation in the GSD context. The targeted respondents of the questionnaire were the project managers of global software organizations. A total number of 175 project managers were targeted, with all belonging to the different multinational companies. Moreover, the questionnaire was distributed in more than 20 countries for the legitimacy of the results. Five points Likert scale was used in the questionnaire with each identified cost driver (Strongly agree, Agree, Neutral, Disagree, Strongly disagree). The obtained responses were then converted into percentages and further refined with data analysis techniques
