Metagenomic datasets of halophilic soil microbiomes from Polish salt graduation towers

In this study, we generated over 130 Gb of metagenome and metaplasmidome data from nine soil samples collected across three salt graduation towers in Poland. Using a multi-platform sequencing approach, we performed Illumina shotgun metagenomic sequencing and PacBio full-length 16S rRNA gene sequencing. Additionally, enrichment cultures were established for the most saline samples from each environment, enabling targeted, hybrid sequencing of plasmid DNA; and shotgun metagenomic sequencing, which allowed for reconstruction of complete plasmid sequences. Finally, physicochemical properties of the soil samples were measured, including CHN composition, metal content, and electrical conductivity.
