The order of upper and lower floral meristem development affects maize inflorescence architecture and kernel orientation (PRJCA015988)

The reverse order of UFM and LFM development in rk1 results in reversed kernels, shedding light on maize inflorescence development. This work establishes the resources for molecular identification of the chirality gene rk1 and the variation that underpins kernel direction.
