Drosophila melanogaster's life history: exploring correlations between early-life fitness traits and survival

This thesis explores the possible trade-offs between early life history traits (in particular: development time and body size) and longevity, in the model organism Drosophila melanogaster to better understand how an investment of resources in pre-reproductive traits might affect later survival. This correlation was also investigated in the presence of different mitochondrial DNA and of a bacteria commonly present in many insects (Wolbachia).
