Each building is four stories tall and its front contains many windows; the building at the right edge of the picture is more ornate, with gabled windows and a turret at its outer edge. The bulidings are fronted by a paved sidewalk, which is occupied by pedestrian traffic. The edge of another block can be seen at the rightmost edge of the image, while horse-drawn carriages line Broadway. The names of the doctor and attorneys whose businesses are represented in the image are printed along the bottom of the image, and the name "Elstner-Morehouse Pub.Co" is written just below the sidewalk in the right of the image.
