Transcriptome sequencing was performed on human trophoblast cells

Preeclampsia is a pregnancy specific disease characterized by hypertension and proteinuria, which has a significant impact on maternal perinatal mortality and fetal preterm birth rate worldwide; it is known that the placenta plays an important role in the occurrence and development of this disease. Through single-cell RNA sequencing, we identified 13 cell types, including trophoblasts, and mapped the corresponding gene expression profiles. Following a comparison between a preeclampsia group and a normal pregnancy group, we observed 1240 differentially expressed genes in trophoblast cells.
