Streptococcus gallolyticus subsp. gallolyticus is an opportunistic pathogen that is implicated in life-threatening bacteremia, infective endocarditis and colorectal cancer.S. gallolyticus subsp. gallolyticus strain TX20005 is a prototypic strain that has beenshown to associate with infective endocarditis and promote the development of colorectal cancer. The goal of this project is to sequence and annotate the genome of TX20005, which facilitates the understanding of the physiology and pathogenic potential of this strain.
