InfoSec.pptx: A Longitudinal Dataset of Talks and Sponsors at Academic and Industry Security Conferences (2014–2022)

This dataset contains structured metadata on 9,728 talks and 1,686 sponsors from ten prominent cybersecurity conferences—four academic (USENIX Security, IEEE S&P, ACM CCS, NDSS) and six industry-focused (Black Hat, DEFCON, RSA, Gartner Security, Advisen, NetDiligence)—spanning the years 2014 to 2022. For each talk, the dataset includes: Conference name Year Title Abstract Speaker(s) and affiliation(s) For sponsors, the dataset records: Conference Year Sponsor name Sponsorship tier (where available) Talks are classified as offensive, defensive, or neutral and mapped to the MITRE ATT&CK (offensive) and NIST Cybersecurity Framework (defensive) categories using both LLM-based and cosine similarity methods. The data was extracted from publicly available conference websites and proceedings using a semi-automated process and is released to support open research into trends in information security knowledge sharing.
