Film and Television Adaptations Collection

This is a collection of materials at the AFI Research Collection relating to films and television shows that are adaptations of written works (books, plays) by notable authors. The practice of adaptation of written works into film has been undertaken for many years and is still used today as a way to provide storylines and scenarios for new films and television shows. There is over 120 items within this collection. The types of materials within this collection are clippings files (many of these listed by the author whose work has been adapted), journals, journal articles, and books that talk about adaptation.
