Panama Canal Authority (ACP) seasonal biological inventories

Since 1995, the Panama Canal Authority (ACP) has carried out seasonal (set season & dry season) biological inventories to document and determine the behavior of the main aquatic biological organisms present in the Gatún Reservoir, a contract was signed with the Panama Canal Authority (ACP) entitled "Monitoring and Preparation of the Biological Inventory of the Gatún Reservoir." In this work, the main organisms studied were phytoplankton and zooplankton, both at the surface and deeper levels, benthic macroinvertebrates, organisms associated with the benthos, and ichthyofauna, all of which are intended to assess the overall condition of the Gatún Reservoir.
