The whole genome sequence of the Chinese local strain 'Kosetsu' was sequenced by paired-end sequencing of 150 bp using Illumina Novaseq 6000 with the aim of determining a novel haplotype on the Gd loci. The total length of the sequence read was 50.4 Gbp, which is approximately 60 times the size of the silkworm genome. From the contigs of a total length of 418.7 mbp and an average length of 15.8 kbp generated by assembly using MaSuRCA (Zimin et al., 2013) and this sequence data and, the novel haplotype was determined. It is expected that this sequencing data will be re-used as an important resource for silkworm genetic studies.
