资源简介:
This dataset contains 16S and ITS amplicon sequencing reads from soil samples collected during a study on a rangeland in southern Arizona, USA. Rock detention structures were installed in dryland ephemeral stream channels (arroyos) undergoing gully formation to increase local vegetation growth by trapping sediment, seeds, and litter, and increasing water infiltration. Samples were taken at rock structures from treated channels, and from similar nearby control channels to determine if rock structures fostered a unique soil microbiome. For more details, see the corresponding journal article "Dryland rock detention structures increase herbaceous vegetation cover and stabilize shrub cover but do not directly affect soil fertility" by Ossanna et al. (2024), Science of the Total Environment. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.scitotenv.2024.170194.
