资源简介:
It is already known that designing buildings with sustainability in mind can create significant benefits in terms of long-term savings and investments whilst also being more environmentally friendly than traditional approaches. Doing the right thing in terms of undertaking design measures to boost end-user health is additionally being seen as a good investment, as well as being the morally correct thing to do. Wellness real estate itself is experiencing considerable growth within the present-day real estate industry. It is also the sector within the wellness industry that exhibits the largest year-on-year growth. Its ascendancy reflects a consumer-led paradigm shift toward health-centric living environments in the face of intensifying global challenges such as climate change, environmental risks, and manmade risks. This research investigates in particular how sustainable wellness real estate could be developed further through robustly integrating resilience design principles into its design framework as standard. Furthermore, it is suggested that if a ‘multiple level of benefits’ approach is taken when selecting design solutions, where each solution benefits the other two factors, greater gains are achievable. It is proposed that such an amalgamation could significantly heighten its market appeal. This study provides in particular practical insights and suggests best practice initiatives to help drive the evolution of sustainable wellness real estate development with a specific focus on resilience. It aims to be a catalyst for innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration, envisioning the emergence of re-imagined condominium communities that help holistically redefine aspects of sustainable and regenerative urban habitation. A 'multiple layers of benefits' approach has been taken when evaluating and proposing measures that could be applied when creating a sustainable business model for the topic area being investigated, aimed at optimizing the overall advantages that can be gained. Focus is given in particular on developing symbiotic relationships between resilient architectural strategies, sustainability, and well-being outcomes within condominium settings for the new normal and beyond.
