Recombinant Inbred Lines of Mimulus parishii x M. cardinalis

This study is an investigation of postzygotic reproductive barriers in Mimulus parishii x M. cardinalis F2 mapping populations and recombinant inbred lines using genome wide ddRADseq. We investigate (1) If patterns of postzygotic breakdown are consistent across replicates in distinct environments. (2) How increased generations of self-fertilization influence postzygotic barriers. (3) If chromosomes with reciprocal translocation sort to meiotically compatible karyotypes in advanced-generation hybrids, or if instead chromosomal underdominance persists. (4) If mapped incompatibility loci are shared with other Mimulus section Erythranthe hybrids, or if novel postmating reproductive barriers are unique to this cross.
