#### Gene expression in the mandibular and maxillary arches: _Sox9_ is expressed in the mesenchyme of the maxillary and mandibular arches at E10.5. At E12.5, its expression is detectable in the chondroblasts of the Meckel’ cartilage and osteogenic progenitors.
