This dataset is a spatial distribution dataset of national forest vegetation types at a scale of 1:1,000,000, covering the entire country from 2013 to 2017. It is derived from the China Forest Vegetation Survey Project of the Institute of Forest Resources and Information, Chinese Academy of Forestry. The project was developed based on multiple data sources including partial historical vegetation distribution maps, historical forest distribution maps, TM data from 2012, TM data from the 1990s, 250,000-scale DEM data, and field plot survey data. It was processed and compiled strictly in accordance with the relevant regulations specified in *Specification for Forest Vegetation Classification, Survey and Mapping* (2019). This dataset is in vector format, with attribute fields including province/municipality, district/county, forest series group, area and other relevant information. It provides data support and services for forest resource surveys, planning and design and other related work.
