Global biogeochemical tracers simulated by the CESM2-MARBL

This dataset contains the outputs of ocean biogeochemistry tracers and tracer fluxes from eleven simulations conducted using the Community Earth System Model version 2, Marine Biogeochemistry Library (CESM2-MARBL) model. Output is the final ten year monthly averaged tracer concentrations and fluxes from 30 years branch simulations after a 400 years spin-up simulation using COREv2 external normal year (2000th ) forcing.

The Control simulation represents the default scenario, while others are sensitive experiments that consider the ballasting effect of terrigenous lithogenic particles from rivers on particulate organic carbon (POC) in the ocean. Detailed descriptions of these simulations can be found in Li et al. (2023).

The .xlsx files contain observations of annual average POC flux compiled from previous stydies, as well as data on total suspended sediment (TSS) input from rivers to the global ocean processed from published research. Please refer to the relevant literature listed in the files for more information.
