SCAMP OTT Parsivel² disdrometer drop size distributions near Buffalo, NY, USA (2021–2023)
收藏资源简介:
Ground-based OTT Parsivel² laser disdrometer observations from the University of Illinois System for Characterizing and Measuring Precipitation (SCAMP), deployed east of Buffalo, NY, USA (Lancaster, NY; 42.930°N, 78.668°W, ~206 m a.s.l.) for two winter seasons, ~November 2021 – March 2023. SCAMP is a deployable suite (profiling Micro Rain Radar 2, Parsivel² disdrometer, weighing precipitation gauge, and weather sensor) used to characterize lake-effect and synoptic precipitation near the Great Lakes. This deposit contains the raw 10-second drop size/velocity spectra (OTT telegram fields, including the 32×32 raw spectrum and N(D)/v(D) spectra), consolidated into daily CSV files for ingestion by the DISDRODB processing toolkit. Timestamps are UTC (the sensor clock was fixed US Central Standard Time; +6 h applied). Station metadata: DISDRODB-METADATA (UIUC / NOAA_WPO_BUFFALO / SCAMP). These data underpin: M. R. Peters (2024), A Comparison of Microphysical Properties in Lake-Effect and Synoptic Snowfall near Buffalo, NY, M.S. thesis, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Funding: NOAA Weather Program Office, Grant NA21OAR4590367.
