A high-resolution global drought dataset for Multivariate Composite Drought Index (MCDI) and its constituent drought indices from 1980 to 2019

The dataset for the MCDI and its constituent drought indices is a comprehensive and innovative global drought index dataset (1980-2019) with a spatial resolution of 0.1°. This dataset contains MCDI and its four constituent indices (Standardized Precipitation Actual Evapotranspiration Index (SPAEI), Standardized Soil Moisture Index (SSI), Standardized Runoff Index (SRI), Water Storage Deficit Index (WSDI)) on a monthly scale, in which SAPEI, SSI, and SRI have multi-scale characteristics for periods of 1-12 months. The availability of this unified source of high-resolution drought index dataset would provide data support for global drought monitoring and drought management strategy development.
