Mikrocensus 1986, 4. quarter: Physical Disabilities

The Mikrozensus special survey from December 1967 (Mikrozensus MZ6704) revealed that about 1.5 million Austrians suffer from a physical handicap. In December 1986 it is again tried to evaluate how many Austrians suffer from impairment of seeing, hearing or movement as well as who suffers from a chronic disease. Updated numbers make medical and social improvement possible. Several measures have been taken in and since the year 1981 which the UN had given the motto “full involvement and equal treatment of handicapped persons”. In public as well as in private life a physical handicap can lead to discrimination. Many questions in this program serve the purpose of finding out whether helps, adaptations and/or facilitations exist or are needed. Moreover, it should be evaluated whether the physical handicap affects or affected the education and career of the interviewees.1967年12月开展的Mikrozensus专项调查（编号MZ6704）结果显示，约150万奥地利人存在肢体残疾。1986年12月，本次调查再次尝试评估奥地利境内存在视力、听力或行动障碍以及慢性病的人群数量。更新相关统计数据可为医疗与社会改良工作提供重要支撑。1981年当年及此后，联合国以“残疾人全面融入与平等对待”为口号推出的多项相关举措已得到落实。无论在公共生活还是私人领域，肢体残疾都可能引发歧视现象。本调查中的诸多问题旨在探明当前是否已存在帮扶手段、适配方案或便利措施，或是存在相关需求。此外，本次调查还需评估肢体残疾是否对受访者的教育经历与职业发展造成了影响。
