Effect of cis-Zeatin and trans-Zeatin in delaying leaf senescence in Solanum lycopersicum under salt stress

The plant hormone cytokinin (CK) plays a key role in responding to different abiotic stressors including salinity in delaying leaf senescence. However, it is unclear if all different CK isoforms, cis-Zeatin (cZ), trans-Zeatin (tZ), Isopentyl-adenine (iP) and Dihydrozeatin (DHZ) function in the same way in salinity associated leaf senescence. Therefore, the goal is to assess the impact of tZ and cZ in delaying salt stress induced leaf senescence in tomato.
