Marijilda Canyon Archeological District Arizona Site Steward File

This is an Arizona Site Steward file for the Marijilda Canyon Archeological District, located on Coronado National Forest land. This district is comprised of multiple sites including a masonry pueblo, numerous agricultural features, plazas, rock alignments, and prehistoric and historic petroglyphs. The sites are generally identified as Salado, although one document favors Mogollon. Amidst the prehistoric sites is one historic site, a structure with a fireplace, doorway, and trash deposit, possibly associated with a 1915 homestead entry application from one Carl Schroeder. Portions of the c. 1909 Lebanon Ditch are also found throughout the district.

The file consists of a site data form, National Register of Historic Places registration form, site maps, sketches of petroglyph panels, map of the district location, an archaeological and historical site inventory form, Arizona State Museum site survey form, four black and white photographs, an archaeological site inventory form, a site inspection report form, and two pages of sketches of modern graffiti. The earliest dated document is from 1967.
