ChIP-seq of CAR and some nuclear receptors of mouse liver treated with TCPOBOP

The constitutive androstane receptor (CAR) regulates genes that detoxify drugs and xenobiotics. We report the binding profiles of CAR and several other nuclear receptors, as well as changes of some histone markers and chromatin accessibility, of mouse liver when treated with TCPOBOP for 3 hours, a potent CAR ligand. We found that CAR, when in cooperation with other nuclear receptors, not only stimulates expression of genes with detoxification function, but also stimulates and inhibits target genes in lipid, carbohydrate and energy metabolism. Our results indicate that interaction between CAR and other nuclear receptors plays an important role in integration of these liver metabolism pathways.
