In the SemEval-2013 evaluation campaign, the TempEval-3 shared task aims to advance research on temporal information processing. It succeeds the prior TempEval-1 and TempEval-2 tasks, featuring a three-part structure covering temporal expression extraction, event extraction, and temporal relation extraction; a larger dataset; and a novel single metric for ranking systems across each individual task and the overall scenario. In this paper, we describe the participants' methods, results, and the overall outcomes of the task, which may serve as guidance for future research in this field.
