These records consist of bound volumes of letters addressed to the Colonial Treasury, and after 1856 to the Surveyor General authorising the person named in the letter to collect as agent the deeds in favour of the writer. Some of the letters request that the deeds be forwarded to Crown Land Agents' offices for collection. The letters are witnessed by justices of the peace.(7/1148-72). 25 vols.
