Fungal infections are an emerging threat to public health. Natural products of microbial origin including polyenes remain a big source of antifungal drugs. Potential anti-fungal natural products producing strains were isolated from samples collected on Xinjiang desert. In this research, the draft genome sequence of Streptomyces sp. LS1784 is presented, which is promising to mine new polyene macrolide Biosynthetic Gene Clusters (BGCs).
