Learning Deprivation Gap, that measures the average distance of a learning deprived child to the minimum proficiency level and indicates the average increase in learning required to eliminate learning deprivation. This indicator is calculated based on the data from UNESCO's learning assessment program called Latin American Laboratory for the Assesment of the Quality of Education (LLECE). LLECE's assessments are based on the measurement of skills in reading at 6th grade, using Minimum proficiency level (MPL) 3 as the benchmark of basic knowledge.
