Anneal procedures are performed at a regular cadence to warm up the CCD.s in a controlled fashion. The process repairs hot pixels and the acquisition of associated internal exposures allows for an assessment of the effectiveness of each anneal as well as the production of reference files (superbiases comma superdarks comma bad pixel tables) for the calibration pipeline.
